What do I need to run it?
An Apple Silicon Mac, plus an AI to do the judgement: the Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT subscription you already have, or open models you download and run on your Mac, Whisper included. No API key needed. And Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, where you finish the edit.
Do I have to use Claude?
No. Use the AI you prefer: Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT through your own subscription, or open models, Whisper included, so every model runs on your Mac.
Does my footage get uploaded?
No. Your video files never leave your Mac, and nothing about your footage is kept in our cloud. What travels depends on the AI you choose. With Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT, the transcripts and small stills it judges go to that provider under its own terms, and our cloud receives only the audio track, deleted when the job returns. With open models on your Mac, Whisper included, transcription and analysis run there too, so your audio and frames never leave it.
Does it work with Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve?
Yes. Send the cut to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve as a timeline you keep editing, with stringouts per topic and per person, and in Premiere, bins of every take and b-roll moment. The media stays linked to your original files.
Which languages does it understand?
Anything Whisper can transcribe and your AI can read. The language is detected per clip.
Will it replace my editing?
No. It replaces the busywork before editing. You decide what you're making, pick the takes and stay in charge of every cut. CutterFly gets you from raw footage to a first cut you'd actually keep.
How is this different from silence-cutter plugins?
Silence-cutters trim pauses and jump-cut what's left; template tools drop your clips into a preset. Neither knows what your footage says. CutterFly reads it: every spoken word, every take's quality, every b-roll moment's content. That's what lets it pick deliveries, place b-roll on the words being said, and build a first cut instead of just shortening your raw material.
What will it cost?
Pricing comes after the beta, set from what CutterFly actually costs to run. Wishlist members hear first. The AI itself runs on your own subscription or on your Mac.
What do you keep about me?
Your account and a count of the footage minutes you analyse. Everything about your footage lives on your Mac, so deleting a project removes its analysis for good.
